What to Expect During an In-Home Newborn Session
An in-home newborn photography session is designed to capture your baby and family in a familiar setting. You do not need a magazine-ready home. A little preparation can help, but the focus is on your connection and this new chapter.
Before the session
Choose one or two rooms with good natural light, often a bedroom, nursery, or living room. Clear only the small areas that may appear in photographs, such as a bedside table or a chair. Everyday life can stay everywhere else.
Follow your baby's rhythm
Newborns need feeding, changing, cuddling, and soothing. Those pauses are normal. Keep diapers, wipes, a burp cloth, and a spare outfit close by. If your baby needs a break, take one.
Include the whole family
Photos may include parents holding the baby, close-up details, siblings meeting their new brother or sister, and everyone together. If older children are involved, their part can be short and flexible.
Keep expectations realistic
Your home does not need to be large or perfectly decorated. We can work with available light and a simple background. The goal is to document the warmth and connection of your family, not to create a staged showroom.
